1. Bufete Fase
Address: Rua de Santa Catarina
Price: €8

Bufete Fase is a well-known restaurant located on Rua de Santa Catarina in Porto. It is renowned for its exceptional Francesinhas, a hearty sandwich filled with layers of meat, cheese, and smothered in a flavorful sauce. Bufete Fase has been serving this iconic dish for years, attracting locals and visitors alike with its traditional recipe and cozy atmosphere.
Of all the places we tried the Francesinha, Bufete Fase has absolutely been our favorite. The place feels authentic, the service is friendly and they only have this one of kind Francesinha on the menu. We loved that you could order the Francesinha spicy or non-spicy and that the fries were served on the side, which prevented them of getting soggy. Also we liked that during eating the sandwich the waitress would ask for a refill of our sauce. All with all definitely our number 1 recommendation for the Francesinha in Porto!
2. Cafe Santiago
Address: Rua Passos Manuel 226
Price: €12,90 for the Francesinha Santiago

Cafe Santiago is a popular eatery situated on Rua Passos Manuel in Porto. It has gained a reputation for serving some of the best Francesinhas in town. With their generous portions, quality ingredients, and deliciously rich sauce, Cafe Santiago’s Francesinhas are sure to satisfy any cravings. The vibrant ambiance and friendly staff add to the overall dining experience.
This cafe is definitely the most popular place to get your Francesinha. Prepare to line up in front of the restaurant alongside many other hungry tourists. The Francesinha itself was delicious and full of flavor, you can definitely see flavorwise why it is a popular place. However, in my opinion there is no authenticity in the restaurant since there are only tourists there. Service could also be better in my opinion because they only take your order, bring your order and bring the bill. Other than that it is hard to catch their attention to ask for example for a drink refill or a spicy sauce. If you want to tick this popular Francesinha off your checklist you should definitely go, otherwise there are better places to go in Porto!
3. Brasão Aliado
Address: Praça da Liberdade 126

Brasão Aliado is a charming restaurant located in Praça da Liberdade, right at the heart of Porto. This establishment is known for its delectable Francesinhas, prepared with care and served in a cozy and inviting atmosphere. With its central location and friendly service, Brasão Aliado is a popular choice among locals and tourists looking to enjoy a classic Francesinha experience.
